The journal aims to provide rapid dissemination of significant and innovative results in theory and applications of engineered intelligent systems as well as cognitive sciences in handling real-world complexities and reaching practical computational solutions that are robust, optimal, adaptive, and cost-effective. Tutorials and surveys may also be published from time to time. The focus is on fusions of cognitive and neuro-cognitive sciences as well as tools of soft computing such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, swarm intelligence, rough sets, probabilistic reasoning, chaotic and fractal systems. All articles are rigorously peer-reviewed by the editorial board members and at least two external reviewers. Major topics are divided into two categories of Foundations and Applications. Papers that are submitted in the Applications category are also expected to utilize and carry novelty in the foundation's category.
